Chandrayaan - 3 - The Glory Of India

On August 23, 2023,  India, which was destined from the start to reach the south pole of the moon finally made it to their destination with absolute perfection. The success was marked by the previous failure of Chandrayaan - 2. But it was not a failure but a learning for the scientists of ISRO and they did what even Russia (their competition) failed to which had more budget than India. India achieved this remarkable achievement with a revenue of 615 crore INR. While the Luna-25 probe which crashed on the surface of the moon was built on a budget of 200 million USD. This sums up to about 1,600 crores INR, isn't it a remarkable achievement for India ?! The scientists of ISRO did what even NASA could not do and they absolutely nailed the mission.

The Prime Minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi also gave his remarks on the mission and he congratulated the scientists of ISRO for this great achievement and the feat they achieved today which just made history. Every Indian was proud at that moment when Chandrayaan-3 - 3 crossed the 150 m danger zone which became the demise of Chandrayaan-2, but because of the brilliant scientists of India, India was finally able to raise the 'Tiranga' flag on the south pole of the moon. The previous landing was accompanied by tears of the scientists of ISRO but this time the tables have turned in India's favor.

Reaction Of Prime Minister

The Prime Minister is clearly the most proud one here, he raises the flag himself and waves it in the joy of this successful achievement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated India and the whole world after lander Vikram of the Chanrayaan-3 mission successfully landed near the Moon's South Pole. India is the first nation to land a craft near the Moon's South Pole, where scientists believe there are high chances of finding a dense concentration of water, which was first detected by the previous Chandrayaan-2 mission. There were tweet posts by the Official ISRO that told other countries that someone had already reached the south pole of the moon especially Pakistan which was the enemy country of India.

THE CHANGE

Instead of a success-based design in Chandrayaan-2, the space agency opted for a failure-based design in Chandrayaan-3, focused on what all can fail and how to protect it and ensure a successful landing.

ISRO said that the new mission has been designed to land successfully even if certain elements fail. Several scenarios including engine failure, sensor failure, calculation failure, and algorithm failure were examined and measures developed to counteract them. They just casually figured out everything.

"Chandrayaan-3's design philosophy is that it should land even if everything goes wrong,"  Professor Radhakant Padhi, Aerospace Scientist, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, told NDTV.

THE FUTURE OF ISRO

Now, the main question here is that with the landing of the Vikram rover on the moon will the answer be unfolded is there really the presence of water on the south pole of the moon and will India be able to uncover it, 'm pretty sure it will because of the brilliant minds still growing in India.

the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s surface marks a defining moment in India’s journey of space exploration. This achievement showcases the nation’s scientific prowess, determination, and unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of human knowledge. The mission’s success not only adds a new chapter to India’s space history but also propels the country into a new era of possibilities and advancements in space technology.

As we look to the future with anticipation, it’s clear that India’s exploration of the cosmos is far from over and India continues to grow even now.

UPCOMING PROJECTS OF ISRO

So what after Chandrayaan - 3, well the journey is far from over, and the 3 future projects of ISRO on the radar that I know about are-

  • Aditya-L1 Mission

  • Chandrayaan-4 or Future Lunar Missions

  • Space Technology Development

ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) will always have the respect of other countries, marked by this day which made the anonymous pole of the moon, as a history by India.
