It is estimated that over a billion individuals worldwide have fallen victim to the prank known as "rickrolling". The number of victims continues to rise with each passing year. This humorous trick catches people off guard, as it can come from anyone, including our own friends. Even internet celebrities have jumped on board, creating challenges to rickroll well-known Bollywood stars or prominent company owners. The meme has spread rapidly across the internet, and its popularity shows no signs of slowing down. What initially started as a catchy tune has now become an explosive part of pop culture and we can easily agree that we got rickrolled at least once in our life.

Rick Astley, the man we all know has changed very much since the song was released and you can clearly see an age difference but still, Rick Roll has become internet history now and we all can agree to the statement that it is far from getting outdated.

Past-Incidents

Rickrolling, originally from 4chan, quickly became a widespread internet phenomenon. It became a popular practical joke on social media, forums, and other online platforms. People enjoyed the surprise of being tricked into watching an outdated music video, and the prank gained momentum as a meme. Rick Astley reacted to it in the form of a joke and was amazed to see how has it grown to be a meme. By now, the same person who spends a significant amount of time on the internet gets rickrolled many times or it is my experience at least. I discovered it in 2020 and since then it has become common for me, probably pandemic was the time in which many people got rickrolled.

The Pranks

The biggest prank of the year 2021 related to rickrolling was uploaded by the YouTuber TheTekkitRealm and he was finally able to rickroll the rickroll legend Rick Astley himself. But it turns quite the opposite on the guy which you can see for yourself on YouTube.

At this time people were still figuring out what happened but it turned out to be a UNO Reverse card from Rick himself and I bet he must have prepared it intentionally for Tekkit. This marked Tekkit as the person who has the most rickroll count from celebrities.

Everyone knows that this internet meme will never change and Rick Astley has got everyone covered up with his new music videos but Rickroll will always keep on growing in views on YouTube and popularity on the Internet which infers that people are never gonna give up revolving this meme.
