Best Storyline games In Video Game History

Video games have been popular since the very beginning of the 20th century and there was a time when people spent all day at the game arcade to play Street Fighter and Tekken games. That was the golden age of gaming history as it grew more and more popular. Many fighting games and action games started being developed as video games grew in popularity among the people. Minecraft was certainly one of the most successful games in the early days of gaming and by that time many genres of games had been developed and were in production for the future of the gaming community. Games started taking a turn in developing a story-based experience for gamers which was a great change.

There was so much to storyline games after the year 2000 which met the expectations of the gamers. The games that they anticipated were finally there for them to play -

Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2

Red Dead Redemption can definitely have a well-deserved place at the beginning of the list. It became one of the best western-time games with a great storyline and plot as it followed the character of John Marston whom all gamers followed till the end of the story and the game developed an attachment of the gamers to the character of John Marston.

It became the future storyline for the Game Red Dead Redemption 2 which was one of the best storyline games ever made in gaming history. It displayed the character of Arthur Morgan beautifully and how he changed from being a criminal-like figure to people to being a man who wanted Redemption and wanted to atone for his past sins.

The Last Of Us Part I

 

The Last Of Us brought a big change in the future of gaming as it introduced how the storyline of a video game can affect the emotions of so many people. The story showed the Character of Joel Miller who was a survivor of the post-apocalyptic world after the outbreak and had lost his daughter and now portrayed after 20 years as a broken man.

Joel became responsible for Ellie(a girl who was immune to the Fungus) after the death of Tess, his partner, and had to carry her to the Fireflies who wanted to make a cure in order to save the world but making the vaccine would have killed her. The story revolves around Joel and Ellie traveling across the whole country to get to the Fireflies. Its plot includes the final decision of Joel which was to either save the world or save Ellie who was almost like a daughter to him now and she gave Joel some hope in the world.

God Of War (2018)

God of War is one of the most loved games in the gaming community and its sequel in 2018 totally changed the face of gaming. It continued the story of Kratos, the Spartan warrior who literally wiped out the Greek Pantheon, and had transitioned to Norse mythology. He's now a responsible father to Atreus, and their journey to fulfill the dying wish of Faye(Kratos's wife) who was a giant. It becomes an epic storyline underlining their Journey to the highest peak in all the realms so as to spread the ashes as Faye's last wish. The game's remarkable storyline explores themes of redemption and parenthood while showcasing Kratos' transformation from a vengeful god to a conflicted father figure.

Kratos's character was loved by the people and he was no longer a monster of the Gods who had been manipulating him since the beginning.

The Walking Dead by Telltale

Telltale Games became known to the gaming community when they released the Walking Dead series which followed the story of Lee Everett who was a former university professor and who found himself in a zombie apocalypse. The game begins as Lee is being transported to prison in the back of a police car when a mysterious event occurs, causing a catastrophic accident. This accident leaves Lee free to navigate a world overrun by flesh-eating walkers.

During his journey, Lee encounters a young girl named Clementine, who has been left alone after her parents went missing. Lee takes on the role of Clementine's protector and guardian, and their relationship forms the emotional core of the game. It later follows the story of Clementine along with AJ with Clementine being his protector. The game really displays fluent storytelling and shocking plot twists and your choices in the game and the way you develop your character and their relationships will have consequences in the game.

GTA San Andreas

GTA San Andreas will be one of the most nostalgic games in the future and people still play it today because of it's great storyline and game mechanics. The graphics are not as good as GTA 5 but the story is well plotted by  Rockstar games. The game's story follows Carl "CJ" Johnson, a former gang member who returns to Los Santos after the death of his mother. CJ gets caught up in the criminal underworld once again and he starts getting involved in gang wars, drug trafficking, and corrupt politics. The narrative explores themes of family, loyalty, and the struggle for power in a crime-ridden city.
